Community Engagement at the Heart of Baines Lodge

Worshipful Master Ade May, in his reponse to the toast to his health, given by the Installing Master, Geoff Diggles Diggles, stated

Brethren, my commitment to serving our community is deeply rooted in the principles of Freemasonry. As many of you know, I dedicate much of my free time to HomeStart Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre, an organisation of which I am proud to be a Director. HomeStart is a charity that provides vital support to families within our region, who through circumstances of unavoidable calamity and misfortune, find themselves in desperate need of help.

As we move forward, let's remember the importance of both. Let's nurture the special bond we share here, and let's continue to be a force for positive change in the world around us. With your support, I am determined to increase our Lodge's presence and engagement in local charitable initiatives.”

As part of that ongoing commitment, Ade invited a number of charity representatives to attend Baines Lodges’ January meeting to talk about the services they deliver and how the Brethren of Baines Lodge can provide more assistance in a practical way.

Being represented were HomeStart Blackpool Fylde & Wyre, Great Arley School, Brian House and Blackpool Care & Share, each of whom spoke about their work with passion, humility and dignity.

Geoff Diggles then presented each organisation a cheque from money raised during his year in the Chair.

As a result of this special evening, members of Baines Lodge have committed to a number of projects including a retail shop refurbishment programme.
